A 63% increase in the number of foreign visitors, signs of recovery from Italian buyers (+2%) and a total of 9,647 visitors for the International Fur and Leather Exhibition.
The slight decline in buyers, which overall decreased by 4.5% compared to 2015, does not concern due to positive signs and excellent business registered during the event.
The Russian market is showing some signs of recovery, which, even, though slightly down in this edition (-15%), seems to be regaining confidence. Instead, Ukraine registered a strong rebound of +29.63%. Extensive presence of Japan +14.29%; Korea +50.95%; Hong Kong +9% confirming the opening up of this market which is more and more interested in the segment exhibited at MIFUR and very attentive to Made In Italy products. Only Chinese buyers were down (-9%). The average decrease of 25% in the Euro zone relating to countries such as Germany, Spain, Greece and especially France, confirming the difficulties due to the coincidence with Paris Fashion Week and the French exhibitions.
On the contrary, the UK registered an 18.37% increase, with exhibitors expressing their satisfaction with the interest shown by English department stores.
“MIFUR 2016, which ended with the great success of the “Dentro e Fuori il Salone” events – among which, the Made In Italy fashion show held on March the 2nd, the Remix International Contest dedicated to young people, the exhibitions and special areas – is a changeover edition. From the next edition to be held on 24-27 February 2017 in concomitance with the Milan Fashion Week and other events in the fashion world, we are committing ourselves on several fronts and on the addition of innovations so that this exhibition continues to be a leader compared to all the other ones in this sector, thus allowing our exhibitors to make the most of their business and participation”
