The fashion and accessories show at Porte de Versailles won the approval of the trade even if visitor attendance was affected by bad weather
A clear and coherent layout of fashion segments at Who’s Next Paris, the clothing and accessories fair of Porte de Versailles, whose latest edition was held from 19 to 22 January last.
The division of merchandise, with prêt-à-porter on the ground floor and accessories together on the 1st floor was approved by all will be kept also for the summer edition, scheduled for 6 to 9 July 2013. Numerous fringe initiatives (forum, runway shows, conferences, presentations, etc.) round the main theme of the season, the Industrial Revolution, livened up the 4 days of the exhibition, helping to give it a warm and bright atmosphere despite the cold outside.
As regards attendance, the January edition in fact certainly suffered from the bad weather. The French in particular, with 36,712 visitors (-17.3%) were conditioned by the many problems on national railway lines and 40% of flights to Paris cancelled . All together the Paris fair welcomed 57,838 visitors, with a drop of 12% compared to the corresponding edition of the previous year.
Against the decrease in European buyers (-4.2%) there was a strong increment in visitors from Asia (+15.5%) with 3,036 attendees and an increase also in Americans (+4.4%).
