An androgynous look, a slim silhouette and oversized shapes: these are the distinguishing features of the Twins Florence collections that reflect Linda Calugi’s inventiveness, focusing on a peculiar fit and the taste for unusual details.
The SS 17 collection is called “Mimetismo” (“Mimesis”) and features surfaces with different textures that mix together and play with the eyes: solid timeless pieces, such as the biker jacket, are revisited with strategic cuts on the back, long fringes give movement to the suede trench coat. The items are made in Italy, often with recycled materials (cotton, suede and denim) giving the product a unique and distinctive look.
Linda Calugi, after graduating in architecture, acquired extensive experience as a stylist before creating her own fashion label outside the mainstream logic. Recent winner of the 3rd Ramponi Prize for the promotion of emerging talents, the designer took part in the Fashion Hub organized by the Fashion Chamber of Milan in February 2016, and is slowly making a name for herself not only in Italy, but also in Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
